During out car trip around Italy we had to learn about the so called ZTL zones the hard way. Most of the times we entered a city I tried to park my car as close as possible to our destination in the downtown area. This has resulted in getting multiple fines worth hundreds of Euros.
We have arrived to Rome two days before our flight back home. It was clear that it would be hard to see and do everything we wanted in two days. Anyways we have managed to visit some of the main attractions, go shopping and find a very nice restaurant.
Staying in Pienza has several benefits for those travelling around Tuscany. This small Italian town is located on a hill overlooking the beautiful Orcia Valley (Val d’Orcia). From Pienza you can easily reach two other must visit Tuscan towns called Montalcino and Montepulciano.
Traditional Tuscan cuisine that is based on simple and natural ingredients has many excellent dishes. In this post I want to talk about the signature meat dish of the region called Bistecca Fiorentina. We had our best Bistecca in a small trattoria near the town called Monteriggioni. This was one of our best meals during the trip!
