Principe Forte Dei Marmi has been acquired by a Russian oligarch in 2007 and has become the center of high living in this small coastal Italian town. Becoming a vacation destination for the Russia’s rich has drastically changed Forte Dei Marmi in a negative way. Read on to find out my version of the events.
Visiting the leaning tower of Pisa can turn into a nightmare if you do it during the wrong period of time. If you decide to go there in summer prepare for high humidity and a large number of tourists. Higher humidity makes the summer hot temperatures feel even more exhausting especially when standing in lines.
This was one of the best Italian farmhouse hotels that I have ever stayed at! We chose it because of the location that provided us with an easy access to all the cities that we planned to visit during this stop. These cities included Lucca, Pisa and Forte dei Marmi.
Siena was the first major city that we visited in the Tuscany region during our Italian holidays. Every corner of this medieval rival of Florence was filled with history. We chose a hotel in the Italian countryside outside the city to make it easier for us to explore neighboring villages with their wineries and restaurants.
